Gaya Cristmas Celebration 2006

An exciting Gaya Christmas Celebration 2006 will start this evening from 7.00 am to 10.00pm for 5 days from 18 December to 22 December 2006 at Gaya Street. Lots of activities being set up for this grand event. So check it out.

Xmas event

Look at the MONEY flying around like a twister.

There were many sales being offered by most of the shops around KK. Went to city and brought along my digi camera again to get a few good photos especially on the X'mas street lighting. I went to Warisan Square as I read in the newspaper a few days ago that there will be several events going on there. Anyway, I noticed a large crowd gathered at the atrium and just wondered what events took place over there. People were cheerfully excited and thrilled with the CASH STORM event. Well, just grab all the money (Real money of course) in 30 seconds. I saw several participants garbing the money and it was not easy. There was a young man that was very calm and managed to grabbed about two hundred ringgit plus plus. He got the right technique and he wasn't greedy. Hey....can do further shopping again, isn't that cool. Anyway, to participate this event and other programmes, you need to spend RM 150 and above in a single receipt at any outlets in Warisan Square. There are many attra ctive prizes up for grabs- two perodua MyVi, a condo at one Borneo and many more.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE....TRY YOU LUCK.

Sabah Hospitality Fiesta 2006

These chocolate cakes look very nice and yummy.

These are all being sculptured from vegetables and fruits.

Two days ago, I witnessed the Sabah Hospitality Fiesta 2006 at Magellan Sutera Harbour . The events was held for two days from 13 to 14 Dec 2006. I managed to view some of the events as it was a full day competitions. I was quite impressed with some of the food that were arranged by creative and talented chefs. I must say the food looks extreme delicious with all the setting and the arrangement.

Delicious cake

Soft and creamy......delicious!!!!!
Recently, I went to several bakery shops to look around for a delicious cake. I have purchased this delicious yummy Tiramitsu cake. It was funtastic and the taste was nice and soft. Well, if you are looking for something different, I strongly recommend you to Uncle Biscuit Bakery at Damai, Luyang.

Pocket Photobook

I came across Pixart through a friend’s blog. I myself wouldn't usually order things online but I am quite impressed with the payment service and the reasonable price. The instructions on the website were easy to follow, so compiling the photos together wasn’t a problem. However, you need to download a simple program called Photostylist. This program enables you to choose layouts for your pocket book and insert photos and the texts to go with it.There are a variety of layouts to choose from and it is very flexible and you can personalise your own photos. Great stuffs.

The pocket book arrived via courier(Pos Laju) after I made the order. For Sabah, it took them additional 3 days to arrive. I even received an email from Dominic notifying me that the shipment and you can track it through the website.

Overall, I am quite happy with it. It was extremely high quality. I would not hesitate to do another pocket photobook again in future.

Modern K.K

Today I woke up late and felt very lazy although the weather was nice. After breakfast, I started to surf the net again trying to figure out how to upgrade and modifying my blog. I think I am still new at this and still learning it.

Late afternoon, I drove to KK and dropped by at Centre Point to have a look at the PC fair. As usual, there were lots and lots of people on the last day itself. Usually, most of the items priced will drop slightly as some of the companies intended to get rid the old stocks or displayed goods.

To my surprise, I was stucked in the jam for about 15 minutes at the highway to KK. The cause............the construction of flyover. Arggg......it took them months to build it.Anyway, while waiting I can sense that KK is repidly developing into a modern and sophisticated city. Look around on the left and on the right, you can see more and more building are taking shapes. Good thing is more shopping heaven for those who likes shopping.Shop till you drop. I remembered some organizations intend to transform KK into Bandaraya tropika with various plants and trees around it. Instead, row of shopping malls are being built in the heart of the city. I guess KK won't be the same in the coming months.

I find that it is very difficult to find a nice parking space.Furthermore, the mode of public transportation is not the efficient yet. I hope that with these ongoing developments, more jobs opportunities will be given to the local communities.

Crocodile Farm

Crocodile Farm

Crocodiles in action

A few months ago, I visited the crocodile adventure farm in Tuaran. It was quite new and the place was quite far from KK. However, it is a nice place to bring family and especially children to look at various species of crocodiles. Hmmm......wonder what crocodile hunter will say about this place. Apart from crocodiles, there are several species of animals being displayed.

Look at the huge fish. It is so big and it costs thousand of ringgit.

Yes. I conquered the majestic Mt. Kinabalu on the 19 November 2006. This time, I took the Mesilau Trail which took me about 3 hours longer in distance and hiking time to the junction of the original trail. The weather was fine that day and a bit of windy. I stayed at the Mesilau Resort and it was very cooling and the place was really nice except that you need a powerful vehicle to drive up there. I stayed at the Bishop Hostel. The service and accommodation was excellent.

I arrived at the Laban Rata somewhere at 3 pm and I was really exhausted. This is my 3rd climb since I completed my studies in university. I taken my early dinner at Laban Rata since I was really hungry. The food was very dear due to the cost of transfer from HQ to Laban Rata by local porters.

This plate of fried wet meehun cost me RM 13.00

The next day, I woke up at about 1.00am for an early breakfast. The guide and I started to climb the mountain via Gunting Lagadan. It was very windy and cold. Extreme cold. I reached at the peak just in time to witnessed the early sunrise. Splendid view. Anyway, I got lucky this time as the weather was fine and there was no rain. Thank god for that. Here are some pictures taken during the trip.

Beautiful View

My Trip To Sabah Agricultural Park

Ok.....Recently I am quite tight up with my work. Well, Last month, I went to SAP (Sabah Agricultural Park) located at Lagud Sebrang about 15 km away from Tenom town. It was quite far but fun.......i mean lots of fun. Just an intro about SAP, it is actually called the "Garden of Learning" because it is offering educational and recreational activities. Just check out the web site and go to Sabah Agricultural Park using the search engine.

Anyway, I wanted to try out the camping since I haven't been to a proper camp site for years. Yes.......the last one was in Australia and that was ages. Anyway, the place was really awesome and relaxing. Nice landscaping too and lots of tropical plants. Check out the pictures and discover the natural wonders.

Around Kota Kinabalu

East view of KK city.

Euro Theme Park- Once in a few years fun fair. Not too bad since KK folks lack of and fun & leisure. Well, you need some luck also to win severals prizes especially the lovely huge softs toys. I notice at Tg. Aru the 1st beach is going to turn into a theme park in future. Just a thought.

Around the sea port. Anyone interested in going to the islands? Well, it seems that there is renovation going there to upgrade the image of the place.

I took this photo on a lovely sunday morning using my nikon coolpix digital camera. It is the view of Kota Kinabalu city from Signal Hill. The view was spectacular and natural. Just a 5 minutes drive from the city and you can view the panoramic view of whole kk city.

It was an beautiful sunset at Tanjung Aru beach. I just took the opportunity to take several shots of it using my nikon digital camera and sharpening my semi pro photography skills.
