Restless Pigeons

Trafalgar Square in London

It is a common sight to see pigeons in KK. There are two places you can spot these pigeons. Early morning at Jalan Gaya and another one at the Australian Building near the row of printing shops. They are so tame and use to be there all the time. Maybe some of the shop owner usually feeds them and it became a special landmark for those pigeons.

In Keningau, small birds will swarm the telephone and electrical cables around the town of Keningau especially at dusk. Well, it is sleeping time for those birds. One of my friends told me that those birds are there because they are attracted to the lights. Others said that due to the destruction of their habitats, these birds have no choice but to migrate.

In other countries, it is an attraction for the tourists. just like Trafalgar Square in London, UK. They are so famous that it became an icon on the tourist map.

Strange local peanuts but delicious

Last saturday, I got the chance to taste this strange local peanuts from a Sr who is managing a retreat centre at Kg. Tatal, Keningau. It looks like deformed insects but it is actually came from a plant which a Bishop from Keningau planted it behind the retreat centre. According to the workers, it is called " Kacang American"...Maybe it was imported from US. I tried to search through the internet to find the species of the plant but still I can't identify it. I hope anyone out there can give me a clue about the name of the plant and its fuits.

Took a photo of the plant and its fruit. Looks like "Pokok Jambu."

Panorama view

Lovely sight of Api-Api building.

Jom Pizza

I was so hungry and couldn't decide what to eat. Since the increase of food price, I have to budget my hunger for "Luxurious Food" . However, I can't resist the temptation to eat at Pizza Hut since they still have the " Sensasi Pizza" at lunch hour.

Try out the Thai Sauce...yummy !

Delicious Garlic Bread.

No leftover...

Only at Pizza Hut, Centre Point. Comment: the food was nice except for the service and the environment. Slow and not attentive to the customers. The surrounding was hot although they do provide stand fan around the restaurant. What happen to the air condition? It has been weeks and I do felt stuffy to shop there. The management should come up with a solution or else the loyal customers of CP will run away to others shopping malls.

Others Using The Loo Also

Excuse me.. I am not the only person using this toilet.

Look like this little creature is also wandering in the loo for a pee.

Camouflage Lizard

Many animals and insects have patterned or coloured skin coverings that help them to hide in their natural environment. This survival adaptation is called camouflage. Camouflage means by which an animal is inconspicuous within its surroundings.

I am not sure the types of lizards but if you look closely with your naked eye closely, you definitely see them. Pretty cool yeah. I bet our national red jacket cicakman can be easily spotted at night compare to these jokers.

Golden Sky

I took this shot around 6.30 pm in front of Stella Maris Church after the daily mass. What a view!!!

Mini Aquarium

This is my mini aquarium a.k.a mini fresh water ecosystem. It is easily to set up at home and it doesn't cost that much. Maintaining the aquarium is easy but the most important part is to maintain the cleanliness of the water . Also, having a good filtering system helps in keeping the water clean at all times. At this moment I have 4 fishes which is sufficient for a small aquarium at home.
This is a Tiger Barb. I have 3 of them in this aquarium. Basically the tiger barb (Puntius tetrazona) or Sumatra Barb, is a species of tropical freshwater fish belonging to the Puntius genus of the minow family. The tiger barb grows to about 7 cm long and 3 cm wide, although they are often smaller when kept in captivity. The green tiger barb is the same size and has the same nature as the normal barb but has a green body. Albino barbs are a light yellow with four stripes just visible, the stripes are a little darker yellow than the yellow body. However, Tiger Barb is not highly recommended for tanks with slower, more peaceful fishes such as bettas, gouramis, angelfish and others with long flowing fins. They will nip the fins and often agressive to others fish.

BTW, I have a lovely housekeeper in the aquarium to keep it clean and shine. A very handy fish.

Types of People

Along the way, I have encountered too many types of people in my life but one thing for sure that I can say is that there are only 3 types of people in this world.

People that;

1. WAIT for things to happen.

2. WATCH things happen.

3. MAKE things happen.

No matter what, these are the people that you will encounter with in your daily life.

Bad Service

Good customer service is the heart of any business. It is all about bringing customers back and also about sending them away happily enough to pass positive feedback about a business along to others, who may then try the product or service you offer for themselves and in their turn become repeat customers. It is the golden rule of any success business.

Recently about 2 weeks ago. I went to a bank located at Donggongon Square, just at the corner lot. I wanted to settle the credit card bills through a cashier who did a silly mistake in entering the account data. As a result of that, I was being charged for the late outstanding amount. I tried to look for the cashier but the assistant manager asked me to wait for the person in charge who was busy at that moment attending to another customer. After waited for about 30 minutes, the assistant manager decided to come and settle the case. By the look of it, he wasn't that happy and was showing a sour face towards me. I explained the whole case to him....bla...bla. After all the explanation he started to ask a few unreasonable questions and asked me to write a letter regarding the case. OMG, in the first place he should inform me earlier on so that I won't waste my time a come to this stupid bank.

Ok...to be fair. I wrote a letter and went to the bank to meet the assistant manager again. To my surprise he never greet me and never apologise for the mistakes done by his worker. Instead he raised up his voice and asking me this, " Selain bank ini, bank mana lagi u boleh bayar." Come on.......any customer can pay to other bank. Lastly he settled the payment with a long sour face. He dared to mentioned this statement again while I was leaving the bank. " Senang-senang pergilah bayar di bank yang lain." I just acted cool. Just wait and see!

Just because he is the assistant manager over there, he acted as he owns the bank alone. Well, to all the people out there...just don't go to this bank again because he doesn't welcome any customers to the bank. He thinks that he is very great there.

Golden rule to treat customers:

1. Greet and welcome the customers.

2. Listen to your customers.

3. Deal with complaints.

4.
Be helpful and tactful.

5.
Train your staff (if you have any) to be ALWAYS helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable.

6. Say thank you and smile always.

The Grill Lamb chop is a real whopper. It is served with large chunks of well-done grilled lamb chop, serve with fries and baked beans. Don't forget to add the mint sauce. Awesome! The service was simply yet friendly. The price......RM 14.00. I noticed that they have switched to large fries in their menu.
